Tuition and Fees

chesterfield day school

private elementary schools near meTuition and fees at Chesterfield Day School vary according to grade level. All enrollment agreements include a non-refundable deposit of $1,000, which is due upon enrollment each year and included as part of the total tuition due.

Additional fees are charged for services and extracurricular activities that are offered outside of the standard school day. These include After-Hours care, Off-Day Camps, extracurricular activities, and summer programs. Charges for private educational support and private lessons are billed by and paid directly to the service provider, not to CDS.

Expenses related to field trips, school supplies, yearbooks, and cultural assemblies are normally covered through tuition.

Annual Fund
Tuition covers 85% of the total cost to educate each student. Our Annual Fund helps make up the difference, and has a profound effect on our school. All members of the CDS community are asked to contribute to the Annual Fund, which is typical of most independent schools.

At CDS, admissions decisions are made independent of need, and financial assistance is available to students in Preschool through Sixth Grade.

Our school uses the services of FACTS to assist in determining financial assistance awards. FACTS is an independent vendor that assists more than 6,000 institutions in the United States with financial-needs assessments.

Our Process

Step 1: Application for admission

Complete the online admissions application. Financial assistance applications will only be considered when a complete and finalized admissions application has been submitted to CDS.

Step 2: FACTS application
Go to the FACTS website and follow the provided instructions to complete a financial assistance application for CDS. In addition to completing the online application, the school asks parents to provide a complete copy of their prior year’s federal income tax return along with any other information that they would like the Financial Assistance Committee to consider in reviewing their request.

Step 3: Decision
Once CDS receives your completed application from FACTS, the school’s Financial Assistance Committee will meet to consider the application and make a final decision. You will receive written notice of your financial award once the decision is made.

Should you have any questions about the process, please contact Laura Placio, Director of Business Operations, at 314-469-6622 ext. 203. She can also be reached via email at: [email protected].
