Volunteer Opportunities

The Fulton School embraces parents and families as partners in our program. Parents and grandparents support and enhance our community by being an active presence in the life of the school.

You can read more about the opportunities below:

Grandparents’ Day
Volunteers are needed to direct traffic, greet grandparents, serve refreshments, take photographs, clean up, etc.
Time Commitment: Help is needed during school hours.

Faculty and Staff Appreciation Lunches
It’s a parent tradition to show appreciation to the faculty by serving a luncheon on each of our two Conference Days. Volunteers needed to prepare/donate food, set up, serve, and clean up.
Time Commitment: Varies -- You could make your dish at home and send it in, or you could work during school hours at the event.

Trunk or Treat
Volunteers are needed to help organize our fall Trunk or Treat. Families will park on the Upper Parking Lot, decorate their cars for Halloween, then children will walk from vehicle to vehicle, collecting candy.
Time Commitment: This is an evening event.

Soup Lunch
At Soup Lunch, the entire student body eats lunch together at one sitting – it’s an annual kick-off to the holiday season. Parents prepare and donate soups for the luncheon. If cooking is not your forte, there is always a need for serving, set up and clean up.
Time Commitment: Soups or lunch items could be dropped off, or you could volunteer to work the event during school hours.

Trivia Night & Auction
There are many different ways to help out with our biggest event of the year -- behind the scenes, ahead of time, or the night of. Volunteers needed to brainstorm the event, set up, work, and clean the night-of. If we hold a silent auction, we would need help sending out mailings, collecting donations from local businesses, preparing auction baskets, etc.
Time Commitment: As much or as little as you can!

Walk-a-Thon
For our walk-a-thon, we take the entire student body (and faculty) outside and walk laps around campus to help raise money for our nonprofit, independent school. Volunteers are needed to help stand guard around the route, keep track of laps, donate cookies, and man the cookie table.
Time Commitment: Cookies could be dropped off, or you could volunteer to work the event during school hours.

Science Fair
Volunteers are needed to judge the Upper Elementary students' science fair projects. (Note: Parents with a child in Upper Elementary cannot be judges.) Parents, this is a great opportunity if you’re in the medical/science field!
Time Commitment: Anytime that works with your schedule during the week of the fair (spring).

Parent Association - Member
Our TFS Parent Association is a group of parents plus a member of the administrative team who will plan and execute FUN-raising and FUND-raising events for the school community. This group will meet most months at school.
Time Commitment: Monthly meetings after drop-off (meetings usually last 1 hour). Additional volunteer hours at parent's discretion depending on activity.
